Introduction
The American Curl is a unique breed distinguished by its naturally curled-back ears, the result of a spontaneous genetic mutation. Friendly, playful, and adaptable, American Curls make wonderful family pets and are known for staying kitten-like well into adulthood.
History
The American Curl was first discovered in 1981 in Lakewood, California. The breed was developed from a stray kitten with peculiarly curled ears and quickly gained recognition for its distinctive look and gentle temperament.
Appearance
The most distinctive feature is the uniquely curved ears, which curl backwards in a graceful arc. They come in both short and longhaired varieties and a wide range of colours and patterns.
Character
American Curls are affectionate, social, and playful cats that get along well with children, other cats, and even dogs. They enjoy games and human company.
