Introduction
The Burmilla combines the best of the Burmese and Chinchilla Persian — resulting in a stunning cat with a silvery coat, beautiful green eyes, and a playful yet calm temperament.
History
Created accidentally in 1981 in the UK when a Chinchilla Persian male and a lilac Burmese female were inadvertently paired. The beautiful resulting kittens established a formal breeding programme.
Appearance
Medium-sized cats with a muscular, elegant build. Their sparkling silver coat with the distinctive mascara eye effect is their hallmark. Eye colour ranges from green to yellow-green.
Character
Sociable and playful from the Burmese combined with the gentle, calm nature of the Chinchilla. Affectionate with families and good with children.
