Introduction
The Donskoy, also known as the Don Sphynx, is a hairless Russian breed with wrinkled warm skin, large ears, and almond-shaped eyes. Despite their unusual appearance, Donskoys are loving, sociable, and highly intelligent cats.
History
Discovered in 1987 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Unlike the Sphynx, the Donskoy’s hairlessness is caused by a dominant gene mutation, making it a genetically distinct breed.
Appearance
Medium-sized, muscular body with prominent cheekbones, large ears, and warm, soft, wrinkled skin. Some may have a light coat of hair during winter months.
Character
Outgoing, affectionate, and highly social. Very people-oriented, loving attention and interactive play. Bond strongly with their families.
