Introduction
The Exotic Shorthair is the shorthaired version of the Persian, combining Persian charm with an easier-to-maintain coat. Often called the lazy man’s Persian.
History
Developed in the 1950s and 1960s through crossing Persians with American Shorthairs. Officially recognised by the CFA in 1967.
Appearance
Round, flat-faced head with large round eyes, stocky body, and dense plush medium-short coat in all Persian colours.
Character
Gentle, calm, and affectionate. Slightly more active than Persians. Good with children and other pets.
