Introduction
The LaPerm is a unique, naturally curly-coated breed that originated from a spontaneous genetic mutation in Oregon, USA. Affectionate, playful, and low-shedding.
History
Originated in 1982 on an Oregon farm. The breed was developed from a curly-coated kitten and recognised by TICA in 2002.
Appearance
Both shorthaired and longhaired varieties with coats ranging from loose waves to tight ringlets. Available in all colours and patterns. Curly whiskers are a distinctive feature.
Character
Affectionate, active, and curious. People-oriented and enjoy being held. Gentle and adaptable, getting along well with children and other pets.
