Introduction

The Savannah is a striking hybrid breed created by crossing a domestic cat with an African Serval. Known for its tall lean build, large ears, and boldly spotted coat, the Savannah is the largest domestic cat breed with an adventurous, dog-like personality.

History

The first Savannah was born in 1986. The breed was developed further and recognised by TICA in 2001. Early generations (F1, F2) are more wild-like while later generations (F4+) are more reliably domesticated.

Appearance

Tall, long-legged cats with a lean, muscular build. Large, upright ears, long neck, and boldly spotted coat. Available in brown spotted tabby, silver spotted tabby, black, and black smoke.

Character

Curious, active, and adventurous. Known for dog-like tendencies including following owners, playing fetch, and walking on a leash.
