Introduction
The Snowshoe combines the colourpoint pattern of the Siamese with white mittens and the sturdy build of the American Shorthair. With distinctive facial markings and bright blue eyes, the Snowshoe is a charming and social companion.
History
Created in the 1960s in Philadelphia through crossing Siamese cats with bicolour American Shorthairs. TICA recognised the breed in 1982.
Appearance
Medium to large, muscular body with pointed coat pattern and distinctive white boots on all four paws. Often a white inverted V blaze on the face. Eyes always vivid blue.
Character
Friendly, social, and moderately vocal. Affectionate without being demanding. Gets along well with children and other pets.
